Saved by a 30 day trial!
I intended to lease this car for my company use and decided to take advantage for a 30 day test drive the local dealer was offering. I had no idea at the start that I would actually pay the $1000 at the end of the month to give it back. This car was a total pig on the road with probably the worst performance I'd ever driven and mind you I once owned a Chevette! The interior was neat looking but very uncomfortable.

A beautiful car
This is just one of the nicest looking cars out there (IMHO) One of the things that sold me on this car is how it's passengers can literally whisper to each other at 65 mph and that's pretty impressive with a 4cyl.This car is used mostly for commute but incredible for a car this size and with it's many standard features that it costs way below $20k, taxes, title and all, included By the way, this vehicle was made in Japan which sold me the car even more. This can be determined by the first letter of the VIN. A car made in Japan will start with the letter J..

My First Car Purchase
My 2002 Toyota Camry was the first car I have ever purchased on my own. My previous auto had been selected by my former spouse and was very expensive to maintain. I chose the Camry based on its reputation for reliability and the recommendations of two family members who have both owned a Camry for more than 10 years. So far I have been pleased with my purchase. The exterior is very attractive. The interior is comfortable. Gas mileage is great. Acceleration on the highway is good and the braking ability is excellent. The cabin is also extremely quiet. I am very happy with this car and look forward to many years of quality driving.

2003 Toyota Camry LE 6V Auto 4 Dr Sedan
2003 Toyota Camry LE V6 Auto - 4 Door. Being a long time Chrysler/Plymouth owner and advocate, this is my first experience with a Toyota. It is impressive. The Camry is very well designed, engineered and constructed. Dashboard devices are reachable/obvious without driver distraction. The ride is straight, quiet and smooth - forward and side driver visibility is excellent. The vehicle feels sure- footed on highways and secondary roads and corners/turns without tilt or sway. The V6 engine provides plenty of power for hills but does not overpower the vehicle. All in all the Camry handles very well.

Out of Competition
I have been looking for a medium family sedan/SW that is comfortable enough for weekend/vacation trips. Tried all new Honda Accord, Subaru Outback, Volkswagen Passat, and all Camry's. Selected this Camry XLE. It is out of competition.

Don't buy this car
This car has been poorly built. There is excessive wind noise starting from 70 MPH. There are rattles even when the car is driven at low speeds. I also hear a rattling sound when the A/C is switched on.

By D. Grugan on August 19 @ 3:00 am
Had higher expectations of the car
Power could be better and the gas mileage should be considering that the car requires premimum. I have a navigation system and it's merely a toy unless the owner is in a position to travel to unfamiliar routes. Driver fron seat came up somewhat short on support for my long legs. Also, the power seats do not tilt back far enough for taller drivers with long legs.

#1 for a reason
I bought an XLE with sunroof and leather and my wife and I absolutely love the car. It's very roomy but not bulky. The interior is beautiful yet simple. The overall build quality is fantastic. Nothing feels cheap or flimsy, inside or out. The trunk is huge, the gas mileage is great, and the price is reasonable. It drives very well. The engine is really quiet and smooth as silk. The handling is a nice mix of performance and comfort. The most significant feature of the car is its proven reliability. Toyota really hit a home run with this car and I cant praise it enough. If you're going to buy one be sure to get the leather and the sunroof.

Great Car
I just purchased 03' Camry SE and I love every thing about it. Although it could use more hp in 4 cyl engine, like Altima (175 hp), engine is very refined and quiet. It's a bit rough ride than the regular Camry due to its sport suspension but overall, it's very well built and I can count on its reliability.

Minor criticisms
Have had a 2003 Camry XLE 4-cylinder for about 2 months. Overall, the car is excellent. Minor criticisms: (1) The driver's side power windows switch with the express down/up feature is very touchy, difficult to modulate the switch if you just want to partially open the driver's side window; (2) why Toyota installed V rated (149 mph) high performance tires (Bridgestone Potenza RE92) on a 4-cyl Camry is beyond me. This a lousy winter tire. Had to purchase snow tires; (3) seat bottoms could be larger; (4) the location of the trunk cargo net interfers with loading packages into the trunk that are too large for the cargo net.

Disapointed
The fuel mileage is great. The power is OK. Plenty of room. I am disappoined with the interior. I have had my Camry since Feb 02 and around 30K the interior body panels have started making snap, crackle, pop noises. I have had back to the dealer 3 times to no satisfaction. I was in a new 2003 with 2500 miles and it does the same thing. What's up with that??

as always, a reliable toyota
My wife and I purchased a 2002 dealer demo in August, 2002. After only two months on the road, my wife was involved in a pretty serious accident with it, getting hit head on at approximately 50-60 mph, and walked away. That made up my mind on the next car, a Camry. We just took delivery of the '03. What a nice car. Hopefully Toyota has worked any kinks that the 2002's may have had (we didn't have ours long enough to experience any), but we got the dark blue color along with 5 star rims, and this is one sporty car.

Great Ride for the Money
After two Accords I decided to buy a Camry after a disasterous 9 months with a 2002 CR-V. Checked out 2003 Accord (didn't care for the exterior design and was leary of Hondas after my last purchase)and settled on the Camry for its quiet ride, excellent attention to detail, and solid build quality. This is not an exciting car, but functional, good looking, and comfort.

What you'd expect from a Camry and more
Just purchased a new 2003 Camry LE, and let me tell you it lives up to its Toyota title. Upon test driving it, the acceleration and braking is very responsive. Steering and cornering are perfect at low and high speeds. The engine is great, as you cannot tell from the interior whether or not you have already ignited the engine. The interior features are just as rewarding. With the Conv. Package, gives you the added power seats, and 8 speakers sterio system. It's an excellent buy that you can count on.

'03 Camry - 1st Impressions
I had done extensive research on the Camry and Passat. I sat in each seat (including rear middle seat) for each car for minimum of 15 minutes to determine most comfortable, the Camry won as it was roomier and more comfortable. Research, and personal experience with my '97 Camry showed Camry has better reliability. [So how did I get to sit in each car for about 45 minutes? Your not going to believe it, but on New Years Eve I drove to each dealer to look at my finalists. BOTH dealers had a car unlocked on their lots! I was also able to listen to the Monsoon stereo system in the VW!!!. Toyota sound system is far supperior.

Best Camry Yet
This is the third Camry I've owned and the best so far. The previous two were V6s, but this 2003 157HP 4 cyl has ample power and uses regular unleaded which is a big plus. It is a great looking car both inside and out and is quieter than previous versions. It handles well for a mid-size family sedan and is built with Toyota quality in mind. Since I have just recently purchased the new model, I can't rave too much about reliability yet, but the other two Camrys certainly served us well.

Excellent car for the money
Camry offers the best value for the money. It drives great and the new controls are laid out for easy access. The only gripe is about the std features. Any thing worthwhile is an option on this car. Even floor mats are an option. Do not think this car is cheap compared to a Passat or Volvo. If you add all the options up, the price will match or even exceed the std Passat.

By sau on January 26 @ 3:00 am
NOT BAD!!!
2003 Toyota Camry SE 4cyl is a Nicely Built and Designed Sedan. It has a very smooth transmission powered by a quite 2.4L 4cyl engine. It's a great sedan however, there are few points can be improved. Price is a liitle too high and get real high with other options. I regret after tested drive the 2003 Honda Accord EX...more features are standard than Camry SE with lower price.

Good car but with minor problems
I like car has a smooth, quite ride. The camry does deliver these. However, it stats high pitch rattles after 1000 miles. I will go to dealers and see what they can do about it. I knew this was a problem before I bought it, just hoped they solved the minor problem after one year's production. Obviously, I was wrong. Believe me, the rattles are very annoying. And it is very intruding in the relatively quite cabin. I mean my old Taurus rattles all the time, but its engins hums and wind noise are both louder which makes rattles less noticable.

It's Like Driving A Cloud
I went from an ergonomically incorrect 1993 Tercel to a 2003 Camry with full leather package. It is genuinely like driving a cloud. The turn signal is nearly silent, and the interior cabin, when at rest, is so quiet I can hear myself blinking. If you prefer a car wherein you like to do everything yourself - crank the window open, yank the emergency brake, twist and turn knobs, and feel like *you* are in control of the car, don't buy this model. This car drives you. If you're longing for a car that does everything for you, politely, quietly and without complaint, buy this model.

First Time
First time Toyota buyer - not sure why I waited so long. This is the quietest car I have ever owned. Runs great - everything inside and out is solid. Stereo/CD has good sound. Car is also very large inside - great back seat!. Got a great price - good buying experience with the exception of the so- called 'Finance Manager' - what a jerk!

ALTHOUGH I JUST BOUGHT MY CAR YESTERDAY, I LOVE IT I THINK THAT FOR THE PRICE I PAYED IT IS AN EXCELLENT CAR, I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING CARS FOR THE LAST TWO MONTHS, AND DIDN'T EVEN THINK TO BUY A CAMERY, THE BODY STYLES THAT I HAD SEEN AROUND WERE THE OLDER BODY STYLE, BUT WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SAT IN THIS CAR I KNEW IT WAS THE ONE, NOT ONLY DOES IT HAVE A STYLISH DESIGN, BUT IT'S BUILT GREAT HAS A LOT OF POWER, AND I FEEL LIKE I AM DRIVING A LUXURY CAR WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY LUXURY PRICE, I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS CAR TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR THEIR FIRST CAR BUT WHO CAN'T SPEND A LOT OF MONEY

I lvoe my Camry. I have had probs with it, but that lies with teh dealership, Toyota 101. But the car is excellent. I like how it has 8 speakers, especially the ones on the top dashboard. Music quality is good with JBL. Overall this is a great car. It smoother than my other car, a 840ci BMW. This is a great car. I love it and would recommend it. Yea, could you believe a 27 year-old bachelor owning a Camry....? My thoughts exactly. But I tell you what, after driving this beautiful Black SE Camry, I'll probably never buy anything else. (other than a lexus). From the looks, the drive, the reputation, and Toyota's established reliability factor, I was sold.(I promise the 1.9% financing had nothing to do with it)

Stylin' and Reliable
Being 22 years old, you wouldn't think I'd be in the market for a Toyota, but the 2002 year really made a turnaround in style. The Camry's exterior styling drew my attention, so I decided to just test drive it. Then and there I fell in love with it. I had originally considered the Nissan Altima, but looking at it over and over, I just didn't like the way it looked. The main thing was the back bumper...there is none. The Accord had entered my mind briefly, but I stared at one for about 10 minutes and decided I really didn't like the way it looked. It had too many imperfections unlike the Camry in my honest opinion.

The '03 Camry is an absolute joy on long drives. The ride is smooth quiet and serene. Acceleration is strong and smooth. Who can top Toyota's reliability. I love to pull up next to a Lexus ES300 ( same platform) and look over thinking "ah ha, I got mine for $12,000 less."

Out the door under 20K
I wanted a nice car under 20K and I found it. The 2003 Camry LE. I upgraded to the ABS Brakes and side/curtain airbags. Total price was $19300 at Roseville Toyota. Nice ride, quiet 4 Cylinder Engine. Very comfortable seats with great leg and headroom. Muffler hangs low under the car, you really notice this when you follow a camry. Ugly ... My only real complaint about the car is that it seems to vibrate a little when you are stopped at a light and the transmission is in drive. Put it in park and it is fine. Don't know if this is a common thing with the 4 banger.

Better than an SUV
I almost bought an SUV but after a careful research on the interior dimensions, Camry is very close to most mid sized SUVs in terms of interior space. Also, it sits taller than its competitors, and is shorter than at least a few SUVs by a mere 4 inches. Add to it the quality, comfort, and reliability of Toyota. Sure, Accords and Maximas have tons to offer too, but this a great product at a great price. One word of advice - You CAN get it for less than the TMV. I played 3 car dealers against one another, and actually got it $1200 below invoice, and almost $1000 blow TMV. THANK YOU EDMUNDS for providing SO much good information!!!

Great deal for a great car from dealer in central NJ. Quiet ride even at highway speed, wonderful JBL audio w/6 disc changer, comfortable leather seats. Wood trim on dash, leather wrapped steering wheel, leather seats w/heated front seats, power driver/pass. seats. Power Moonroof, ABS, largest trunk in its class (all mid-size sedans incl. luxury).

fun to drive
this is my family's 3rd camry, still owning the 1st 2, and one lexus suv, all runs great. This SE has soft clutch, soft steering, soft ride, just a little stiffer than normal, good corning, fun to drive, spacious interier and trunk, feels quicker acceleration than my v6 auto. the only thing i don't like is the radio control volume button is all the way at the top of the center dash, kinda hard to reach while you sitting back and driving.

By Steve Eckert on January 7 @ 3:00 am
I almost bought the wrong car
After 500 miles on a new rental vehicle I realized this is not a highway vehicle. Highway driving is my job and this Camry was all over the road and bouncy at times...must be the little tires. Seating... for long periods of time is uncomfortable. The cruise control position is almost dangerous and hard to operate. Using the center console while driving is dangerous..it is located too far back. The tilt wheel only offered slight differences.

Big Car Fun to Drive
Camry 2003 models are fun to drive, big size for comfort and space. For the price you get more value and reliability at par. A very good investment mile for mile. Fit & finish is truly Toyota (inspect Nissan's for comparision), then you'll know.

Not that Great
Driven many Camry's and this one is no different. Terrible exterior styling. Mushy Brakes and Steering. Great Headroom, strange dash. Poor choice of materials on the doors(felt?) This is a Toyota Buick. This one stalled many times. ONe word SOUL, this car has none. After getting back from our trip driving this car. Pleasure to Drive
The combination of the firmer SE suspension and super smooth V6 engine makes the car fun to drive. Although not a racer, the Camry has plenty of power to merge on to freeways, etc. The firmer SE suspension, 4 wheel ABS disk brakes and power steering all work together to differenate the Camry SE from the Camry your Grandma drives.

GOOD CAR - BAD DEALER
This is my 3rd Toyota purchase. No problem there. The dealer gave us a great deal, but on delivery they claimed the vehicle did;t come with floor mats and they didn't provide a full tank of gas. it has taken us approximately 6 weeks to get a check refund to cover these items. This happened only because I threatened to report them to Consumer Affairs. It is hard to find an honest dealer. My wife had a similar problem when she purchased her Highlander.

A great car
A great car. Only has about 2000 miles on it so too early to tell how it will hold up. But so far so good. The V6 is very smooth and quiet. Acceleration might not be class leading but more than enough for me. Highway merging capablitiy is also very good. I bought the V6 because the 4cylinder sometimes struggles when going up a hilly road ( I test drove both cars).

Toyota Happy
I bought this car 1 week ago, and have found the transition from a van to sedan very pleasant with the Camry. Looked for 2 months, comparing Civic, Corrola, Mazda6, Altima, and Jetta. Comfort and headroom are superior. My main goal was better gas milage and dependablity. So far on second tank I am getting 28mpg, and looking forward to increasing that number as break in period is established.

By jtbruin on April 19 @ 3:00 am
Great car for a great price
I'm very happy with my purchase. The ride is great, feels like a luxury car with a quiet cabin and refined ride. Acceleration is very good for a 4 cylinder and doesn't sound harsh with hard acceleration. a lot of the engine noise is dampened. If you want a quiet and comfortable car, that borders on almost-luxury, then i recommend this car. if you want a sports car with good handles, then this might not be for you.

By Steve123 on October 10 @ 3:00 am
Should have done it sooner...
I went and test drove both a v6 LE and a v6 XLE. Even though (both on line and at the dealer) the price difference was ~1500, it's a world of difference. If I was reviewing an LE, I would not rate it as high. The XLE has an awsome Lexus like ride. Controls are where they need to be and are easily reached. My wife absolutly loves the car. She was a bit skeptical at first though. Anyone considering a Camry should test drive an XLE first, then try the LE. You'll be glad you did

I have always heard how dependable Camry's are and I drive a 93 Celica myself. So I have seen first hand at how great Toyota's are. Then once they changed the body style of the Camry and came out with the sporty addition (SE)I knew I had to have one. I just bought one and it is everything I wanted. This car is quite, stylish and comfortable. Not to mention a very good product from Toyota. And as always dependable!

Great Car!!!
I test drove Nissa Altima and Camry twice befor buying. I was hooked up with Nissan New look. But hat was it. After test driving Camry, I loved it. The car is so silent, road/wind/tire noise is next to nothing. Interior is great and of impressive quality. Milege is Great too - 32 mpg. I loved Nissan Altima exterior style. But now after comparing too and staring for more than 2 weeks of test driving, I like Camry better. Qualiy is better and style is very Classy. More like Lexus. Sound system is too good. With no outside noice, it feels much clearer. So unlike you sit in Hond Civics, you don't have to make it louder to hear.

Nice car
I own this car for 5 days and 600 miles, so far. I traded an '01 Corolla with 68,000 miles. I was looking for a 4 cylinder that has room and power. This car has both. I tried the Altima, nice room and style, no power and harsh shifting. The Mazda 6 no power, seats not designed for 6 footer. Accord felt cramped. The Camry's ride is smooth and quiet! Nice stereo. Controls are easy to reach. The brakes are mushy, but the ABS felt mushier. The hood is suppoted with a gas spring, nice not to have that rod in the way. Plenty of trunk space. I miss the automatic headlights. A great car for the price and of course Toyota's dependability.

2003 Toyota Camry XLE
This car is great for the price. FOr only about $25,000, you get everything you would need. I really enjoy using the Temperature Control where you just set the temperature, and it will control the movement air in the car and it will decide whether to use A/C or Heater. On the exterior, it looks more like a Mercedez now. It's also a very quiet car, especially when you're on the freeway, you can hear everything without having to shout in the car. On the rear view mirror, a compass is provided so you always know where you're going!

Great Car
This is my first non-American car, and I am extremely pleased. The 2.5L four is very smooth and quiet and suprisingly peppy. The interior layout is simple, logical and comfortable. Great rear seat and trunk. The car has a very smooth quiet ride. Standard stereo is decent. Handling is decent, but don't expect sports car performance. If your looking for all around good transportation, this is it.

Solid Begining
After considering the Honda Accord, and the Nissan Altima, I chose the Camry. Everything about the Camry makes a firm statement of quality. If you want flash and power, go with the Altima. If you want a fun, sporty drive, pick the Accord. If, however, you want a quiet ride, smooth handling, and overall design excellence approaching higher priced luxury models, the Camry is your car.

O what a feeling...
I want to thank Edmunds.com for making me an informed buyer and helping me get TMV on my new car. I researched six different cars and finally settled on the Camry...what a wonderful car. Gas mileage is OUTSTANDING and the ride and performance is second to none! Test drive and you will buy one...O' what a feeling!

I love this car!
I considered the Honda Accord and a pre-owned Acura TL. I'm glad we picked the Camry. It's fun to drive, and the four-cylinder is surprisingly peppy. I like that car rides higher than the Accord and the Acura and seems to take bumps and potholes well. Gas mileage is great! Lots of room, front seat and rear.

Amazing quality and value
This is our sixth Toyota and, without doubt, the best yet. Everything about the car is excellent. We tried the new Nissan and the Honda Accord but the XLE Camry beat them both. We paid $21,000 exactly for the car with the moonroof option. This price included all taxes and registration.

Toyota--a whole lotta shaking goin on!
There is a constant vibration in the steering wheel that Toyota can not fix. It feels like an alignment problem but the alignment, wheel balancing, toe-in have all been checked. Toyota is saying we just have to get used to the feel of the car. Odd that the steering wheel of our 92 Sable doesn't vibrate as much as the Toyota. We're already out looking for a new car and this on only has 2300 miles on it and we've owned it less than 8 weeks! We're very disappointed in the Toyota Camry.

woot woot!!!
overall it's a pretty good car. a problem in the camry was that whenever i accelerated or lowered the speed, there are small jerks. the transmission isn't as smooth as my 1987 Volvo 240 DL. the brake disc's grooves were too deep after a month of use, signifying the deteriorating quality of it as you use the car. Star Toyota in NYC stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Handled well on a 500 mile road trip. I wasn't stiff after the drive, I actually relaxed. seats, smoothness, and cruise control excellent. I was never caught between a slow truck and an approaching car. My Camry has guts!

Love My Black Walnut SE
I bought my Camry SE a short time ago and am thrilled. I went shopping for the best 4 cylinder vehicle on the market and found it! Smooth, strong, quiet, powerful engine. Silken transmission. Great sport suspension and leather steering wheel. My wife and teen son love the interior and the JBL stereo. I love the color--BLACK WALNUT-- a manly, rare, underrated hue. All this, plus ABS, aluminum wheels, 24 mpg, and monster trunk, for less than $21,000. Booyah! Drove the Accord, RSX and others first; then bought the right car. I sit tall in my Camry at 6'1"; great view fore and aft. A rip racer that doubles as a sedan. Go get one!

an extremally everage car
bought it used with 18k.The very second week took it to a dealer to fix as i found out collapsed chaircoal canister. Two month later could't start it and again my dealer fixed problem with engine oil flooding sparkplugs. When loaded (2-3 people inside)the car hits speedbumps with its buttom. Horrible bodyroll, jerky acceleration, average braking power and totaly looses traction and stability when driven over uneven pavement. This car was a dissssapointment.

By TM123 on May 4 @ 11:00 am
Nice car!
I've owned it for about a month. Rides very smoothly. In fact, rides more smoothly than most other cars I've test driven. The shocks absorb bumps nicely where you don't even notice. Not a super sporty car, but is a solid sedan that should last for years.

Toyota USA please read
Bought vehicle 2 wks ago (300 miles on clock), and noticing problems. Car is already making random rattling noises, moon roof not closing properly and getting constant vibration in steering wheel. Really upset, given Toyota's reputation for build quality (considering buying another vehicle already).

2003 Camry XLE
The 2003 Camry XLE has exceeded my expectations for the first four months of ownership. The quality of ride, quiteness, mileage economy, trim, and safety features makes this vehicle a great value for the price. The only recommendation that I can offer is improvement in side view mirrors, ie seeing the parking or road lines along side, especially when backing the vehicle.

By David NH on January 11 @ 11:00 am
Very nice family sedan
Its been 2 weeks and so far so good. The SE doesn't absorb the bumps quite as nice as the LE and XLE, but you trade that off for the sport suspension. My biggest beef is the passenger seat is not as comfortable as others (Altima, Accord, Taurus, Maxima).

By Hallowell on January 11 @ 11:00 am

Toyota has put a lot of thought in this vehicle. Quiet, clean smooth riding with a great sound system.

Simply the Best
We considered the Accord, CR-V, Element, Santa Fe and RAV4 but chose the Camry. After e-mailing several dealers for their drive-out price, we ended up paying $17,700+TTL. I've had Caddies, Pontiacs, a Lincoln, a '57 Chevy, Buicks and Olds and this car has the smoothest, quietest ride of all. After 14 years of buying "nearly new", it is fun to have a "brand new" car again.

By Tommaso on October 8 @ 11:00 am
Best Car I have ever Driven
For me, driving this car is like settling down in a good (but reasonably priced) resort hotel: quieter than I thought possible and as comfortable as a well-designed recliner. Power and handling contribute to a sense of safety. Fuel economy is incredible for a car that is now the size of the older Avalon, and bigger than at least one Lincoln model: 38 mpg on its first highway trip.

03 V6 XLE great car, but..........
I recently purchased a 2003 XLE with the 210 V6 VVTi engine, equipped with the 5 speed transmission. The transmission is becoming a disappointment. I have noticed it has a problem downshifting from 5th into 3rd for passing. The transmission hesitates before a lower gear engages, then shifts into gear with a degree of roughness. There is a concern when immediate response is needed. Many owners of the Lexus ES300 have experienced the same problem, with the 5speed transmission [the Lexus and Camry share much of the same mechanical underpinnings] Lexus is aware of the problem, let's hope Toyota is in the loop and aware of the problem.

This Ain't No Grandma Car
Well, the misus and I had to get a new car as our 2001 Honda Accord got totaled. I was opposed to the Camry at first, cause I didn't want a grandma car (do I feel a midlife coming on?). But we went to the Toyo dealer and I was AMAZED at the silky, smooth ride of this car. We were sold after smelling the new car smell! It handles beautifully and gets up and goes for a 4 banger. The sunroof and smoked headlights give it a mean sporty look. The cabin is so large...good for those rides home after fighting at the in- laws. Pockets galore and HUGE trunk. Full size spare is great too. Excellent car...excellent value.

Quality and Value Supreme
If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable family sedan with an emphasis on value over performance, it is tough to beat the Toyota Camry. I drive back and forth between Indianapolis and Cincinnati weekly. The first trip with the Camry seemed to take 1/2 long because of the comfortable, quiet ride.

By SUV driver on September 2 @ 11:00 am
Nice Ride
Compared Honda Accord and Camry side by side. Each has exactly the same gadgets, bells and whistles, etc, but ended up choosing the Camry. Honda is a sports car feel and drive, Camry is much more of a luxury car feel and style. although the drive is sporty. 4 cyl power is good, great handling, very responsive. Can't get over all the gadgets they put in the cars nowadays. Gas mileage @ 25-28 mpg, very comfortable feel and ride. Excellent price/value.

By SClerch on September 2 @ 11:00 am
So far so good
Bought it certified used have to say that it beats all the American cars I have driven in the past. Ride quality is very good all around including a very quiet interior at freeway speeds. Probably not the best performer in its class, but more than adequate for everyday driving. Interior is very roomy, especially the rear and trunk areas and the quality of materials used as well as the look is very nice compared to the competition. Sound system sounds very good but the its high placement on the dash needs a little getting used to. Overall, Toyota has put its signature mark of quality they are known for in this car.

Good Value but a Little Disappointed
This was my first "grown-up" car. I loved the car at first sight. However, within one week I noticed that the rear bumper had been repainted and never disclosed to me. My salesman said that there was nothing indicating the car had been repainted. I believe him. Toyota repainted the bumper but nowI have a repainted bumper that is obvious. Also, I have an annoying rattle in the back of the car. I love the car and my whole family owns a toyota of some kind. But I expected better quality for my money.

comfortable, reliable
Just bought a new Camry on May,03. Used to own Hondas. Pro: camry is not as responsive in local driving as accord or acura, but is quieter. Very comfortable in high way. Beautiful syling(don't change it!), roomy, tight handling. Cons: the brake pedal is too soft and feels slight vibration occasionally when the clutch disengages in the automatic transmission during braking. The door skin is too thin! I got a "din" dent on the door in the second week of owning the car, and spent $99 to remove it. Please make the door more resistant to ding dong dent!

By TRM on July 29 @ 11:00 am

Toyota driver for life
I will continue with Toyota Camry's until they let me down. I turned in my old reliable 87 Camry for the new 03 and am so far very pleased. It was tough saying good bye to old betsy, but wow, the camry has come a long way in the last 16 years! I can just pray that I got a good one and that it lasts 16 years like my last one. The main advantage I will say is the 3 3 point seat belts across the back seats. That, with the crash test results are great for a guy who carts around his three girls. Also, very roomy interior allows me to get two car seats and another older child very comfortably in the back with room to spare.

2003 Camry SE V-6 late model year
Thought about the LE, but didn't like the mushy ride. Went with the SE with the V-6. Glad I did. The strut tower brace and stiffer springs and performance tires, make this car a joy to drive. Waited for the new 210 Horsepower engine in the late model 03 models. What a difference in power and fuel economy. Getting 23city, 30Highway, Not bad! Only thing I don't care for is the rear spoiler. Sporty but not functional and makes backing up difficult. Overall I'm satisfied with my first Toyota so far.

I'm not that old, honest...
I had my heart set on a new Altima and my wife wanted a new Accord - that all changed when we saw the Camry SE. It really caught us off guard - not at all like we expected. We tested several other cars, but kept going back to the Toyota dealership. I'm not sure why people complain about the style - I think it's great! The car gets lots of admiring glances at traffic lights - just wish it had a bit more power. I could not justify spending the extra money for the V6. My driving is generally split between city/highway - city driving is good, but highway cruising is what this car excels at. We're very impressed and I think we'll be Toyota owners for life!

Rear suspension Noise
The right rear suspension has a thumping noise that is very loud on washboard types of roads. The city streets of PA are not always the best but there is no excuse for having this much suspension noise. This is only on the right rear and usually when the left wheel hits a bump. A thumping noise seems to emanate from the stabilizer bar and right rear strut. Three times to the dealer and no repair or relief.. they tell me that other Camrys have the problem and they are waiting on Toyota to come up with a repair for this noise. I do not expect a new car to have this kind of noise. It was so noisy on one section of roard that my grandson asked if it is safe.

Former Accord Owner
Just got my car the other day and notice a big improvement over 2003 Honda Accord EXL. I purchased my Accord in 09/2002. I have had to have a strut replaced after 2 weeks of owning, new rotors, water leaking in the trunk and stains on the headliner. The headliner was replaced once and was staining again. No problems withis car and I think Toyota may have a better product.

JBL Premium Stereo System
Please do not fall for that "JBL Premium Stereo" which comes standard on the XLE model, and can be add as an option on the LE. They are the worse sound system you could find. There's nothing premium about it. 8 Speakers that Toyota claims locate at 6 locations, funny I couldn't come up with 8 at all. They intentionally make this as a gimmicks. In conclusion: XLE HAS (VERY, VERY) BAD SOUND SYSTEM. IT DOES NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY. If you picked LE model, save money and go out and install a better sound system. DO NOT choose JBL Premium sound system. You'll be glad you did not chose. I guranteed it.

It's a Lexus Jr.!
It is meant to be a larger family car that is more refined in nature and has a long, long, history of auto reliability. That Camry's nature is reflected in smoothness and comfort. It's a Lexus ES300 Jr! The Camry is a great car for the price. It has a wonderfully quiet cabin (minus the crisp tire/road response) and looks and feels like a much more expensive car. Handling could be improved, as well as the horsepower, but my wife and I are quite pleased with the 2003 Camry.

By navycommander on October 23 @ 11:00 am
forget the es-300
Long story short, I bought a loaded XLE V6 instead of another es-300 and saved about $9K. There is not $9K of difference between the two (maybe about 3 or 4). Get a wood dash kit from exoticwooddash.com (about $175) to complete the OEM wood in the XLE and you have a baby Lexus, only with better pickup and more fun to drive.

Camry XLE better than Avalon or Lexus
Tested Avalon XLS and Lexus ES300. Even the salesman agreed the Camry is a much better buy. Paid less than TMV and then got the $1,000 rebate and Toyoguard at same price. Toyoguard is not a good product, but Southeast Toyota does it to upper end cars as they receive them. Avalon with almost comparable equipment was $4,300 more from same dealer and Lexus was $3,000 more with older model sound system. At 3,500 miles, it's a great car, well designed and appointed. Not sure what good RDS radio is in Southeastern US though.

Great Family Car
Camry is a solid family Car and great for commute to work. LE offers simplistic yet functional design; however, it is a bit higher price than domestic… Will I buy a domestic over Camry? No! It’s the reliability kept me an honest Toyota believer. I know you would be too.

By jdmcderm on June 13 @ 11:00 am
Jack of all trades...
This car does a lot of things very well. It's stylish, roomy and has an impressive list of standard features for a base model. The ride is very comfortable, but not particularly involving. I've owned several Hondas and considered the Accord, but felt that the interior material quality was inferior for Honda and the styling was bland. It was, however, more fun to drive than the Camry, especially in a V- 6. Also consdered the BMW 325i which was too small to be practical for 4-5 adults. All things considered, I'm happy with they Camry, but the BMW will be at the top of my list next time around

I test drove more cars than I would care to admit, coupes, sedans, SUVs. I thought I had my heart set on an SUV but didn't find anything nice in my price range. Pings
My 2003 Camry has been good. The Ride is nice, it's comfortable and roomy but I get a pinging type sound when I accelarate. You can only hear it when the driver's side window is open not inside the car. It doesn't effect accelation but the noise is annoying and I don't know what it could mean down the road. Still Looking Good
I've had my Camry for over 3 months now, and I am pleased. Aside from a minor cosmetic touch up (flaw on the dash), the car's performance has been exactly what I was looking for. After hearing comments from '03 Accord owners about rattles and apparent design flaws, plus news of the Nissan Altima having major problems with it's engine, I believe I made the right choice.

Great car, but what's next?
Smooth, quiet, big trunk, runs like a 6, quality inside and out, great suspension, brakes, sound system. Quality material in the seats and doors, almost a baby Lexus. The SE suspensions offered more body control and less lean and float than the le and xle. Priced less than the xle, with nearly all the add on's, the SE was a package that had the features I was looking for, ie, 16" performance tires, alloy wheels, four wheel disc brakes, ABS, fog lights, sun roof, and permium JBL 8 speaker sound system. 75% of toyotas sales are the 4cl, new engine in 2002, i-vtec, this produces as much hp as your standard american v6.

Great Family Sedan
I like the fact that it runs very quite; even at high speeds. It seems to be able to turn 'on a dime' I like the looks of the front end, but prefer the rear end of the 2002 model. The power of ilumination from the city lights is great, but the highway lights are phenominal. Lots of head and leg room; more than any other brand of car test driven.

Logical controls are all within arms reach and easy view.Steering's pretty light and has the big car 'feel' when it comes to handling.Toyota!Fix those spongy brakes! Toyota Camry xle v6
Althought I have only approximately 2000 miles on my Camry, I believe I have formed some clear opinions on its quality. The ride is terrific. It is not a sport sedan, however it handles quite well and should satisfy the vast majority of drivers. The v6 has enough power for the preponderance of American drivers and is quiet and smooth. The overall build quality is excellent.

I love my Camery
I've had my camery for 4 months and I love it. I'm 21 and have a 1 yr. old daughter, so I was looking for something sporty and roomy for the car seat. I had a corolla before and it was safe and reliable so I felt like another Toyota would be the best thing to get. I test drove the Accord because my husband wanted me to and I could not wait to get out of it and back into the Camery. The Accord was so uncomfortable and loud. My Camery is so confortable and roomy....my husband does not have to sit with his knees in the dash when he's in MY Camery.

Like the car but not the company
With less than 10,000 miles on the engine, it blew. Documentation that oil was changed was provided, yet they did not honor the warranty. In addition to being out the money for a new engine, I had to pay for a rental car for 3 months. Their explanation for not covering the engine under the warranty was that they couldn't be sure it was their fault. The product shouldn't be the only thing that plays into the purchase of a car. If you buy a Toyota, I hope you have better luck with the company than I have had.

Traded in my 96 Camry last year for a new 03 and will probably trade it in for another Camry in a few years. I've found Toyota to be very well built and reliable even well past 100k. After quite a bit of hunting & test driving, I chose a Camry as my next new car. The ride was nicer than the Altima or the Mazda 6. It was more comfortable than the Passat and the Accord. With the upscale interior and standard features, it's hard to believe I only spent 17500. The trunk is gigantic, perfect for luggage & groceries. The interior layout is nicely designed & the engine is quiet. For a more sporty look, I opted for the model with the rear spoiler. It's definately a family car, but the spoiler adds a bit of punch to an already beautiful exterior. I also test drove a few domestic mid-sized sedans and there was simply no comparison.

By Lmiller on March 25 @ 11:00 am
Great, but flawed.
There is a intermittent noise in the dash. The Car has 20 more horsepower than the Mercury Sable it replaced, however seems to have less performance. Rear vision is poor with the spoiler. Love the spoiler, can't see over it.The brake pedal is mushy, but brakes are good. The exhaust pipe hangs down six to ten inches on every Camry I have seen. Looks very Tacky. I no longer have to look at Camrys and rebadged Camrys (Lexus) to identify them. I just look for the exhaust pipe hanging down under the rear axle.

TOYOYA 2003
A GOOD EXPERIENCE FROM THE DEALERSHIP TO THE ROAD. PLENTY OF ROOM VERY QUITE SURE FOOTED WITH EXCELANCE GAS CONSUMPTION. GREAT CAR FOR CAMPING AS WELL AS NORMAL USE. ENGINEERING VALUE AHEAD OF ITS COMPETITORS.

By L Hill on June 11 @ 11:00 am
Good car albeit a little steep in price
I bought the 2002 LE model. Its was kind of pricey compared to some of its competitors, however this is more a function of market timing as in the recent months there have been better incentives offered mainly with the list of standard features like power drivers seat and power locks (I paid extra for) growing over previous years. Overall, good quality as with the first year of a model there are squeaks and rattles that need refinement. Handles well though especially on the interstate with good pickup.

I can't think of anything bad to say about this car. My parents have a 2001 Camry XLE, and it has been a faithful part of our family. I decided to buy the 2003 XLE because of the comfortable ride, elegant styling, and reliability of their model. Ours has turned out to be everything we hoped it would.

I owned an Oldsmobile Alero prior to getting the Camry and after 8 months I am still amazed by how much better the Camry is. The quality is far better than any GM, Ford or Chrysler I have ever driven. I would buy another Camry in a second!

SE Packaging A Hit!
The SE lured me away from accord. Targeted to buyers like me who need family practicality but also need room and economy. Love the car, BUT, and this is very dissapointing - Clutch has developed a noise after 1000 miles, dash creaks, sun roof shade creaks in open position. Mine was manufactured 5/03 in Japan, so as far as Toyota fixing rattles for 03, don't believe it. We'll see how dealer solves this. Stay tuned.

So far, so good
Stylist, comfortable, and solid. My Camry appears to be a few steps ahead in regards to comfort, design and features in comparison to the 03 Accord. The red (salsa) is HOT, looks "sweet" on the road and in my driveway. I have about 4K miles on the car, no problems, so far so good! A little difficult backing up in the dark, so make sure your area is well- lite. Just "buy" it!

By DonW on November 14 @ 11:00 am
Just a little more interior style
The 02 Camry is a great car, except two areas. The dash/console area and the exhaust system. To give the interior a more appealing look the gear shift console should be an extention of the dash. Also the exhaust system hangs to low. When veiwed form the rear the car appear to have a defect or damaged exhaust system, very unappealling.

Camry SE V6
I like the car. It's roomy. The navigation system is very good. My main complaints are: 1 The engine(V6) is way under powered. 2. The transmission is very very unresponsive. The car can't get out of it's own way. The dealer says it a break in period thing(I don't believe it). They say Toyota never has any problems with their transmission. Well mine stinks. It's too bad too because my rating would be much higher.

I AM IMPRESSED
I owned various vehicles in my life from Mercedes to GMC to Honda, but when I test drove the Toyota Camry, I was impressed by how quiet it was. The engine sounded smooth and the ride was just right. The interior of the leather covered XLE with wood trim definitely looked better than my 99 E430. I loved the sound system, the heated seats, the VSC and the eight airbags that came with the car that I was riding in. There were many other gadgets and cool things to explore in the Camry. I truly believe that if you want to get the bang for your buck and treat yourself to some affordable luxury then you should definitely consider looking at a Camry.

A good buy
Tested Accord, Altima. Settled on Camry SE, manual. Used CarMax.com no hassle price of $17,300 as the starting point with the dealerships. Got it down to $16,900 + tag + tax + $100 dealer processing fee.

First and Last Toyota
Where is that legendary Toyota quality every one talks about. The paint is chipping off this car faster than I can touch it up. The transmission is constantly confused between 45 - 60 mph. The windows, doors, dash etc make loud snap, crackle and pop noises. The brakes feel like they don't engage until the the brake pedal nearly hits the floor. The steering is numb at best. The list goes on. If your dead set on buying an import I recommend you buy a Honda, Nissan or Mazda. Even a Hyundai would be a better choice than a Toyota.

piece of junk
Shift from 1st to 2nd gear floats; shift from 2nd to 3rd gear is a hard double jerk. Just maintaining speed at 1200-1400 rpm and just over 40 mph, engine/transmission pulsates as though transmission can't figure out what to do. Toyota won't fix transmission; they say hard shift is a characteristic, not a fault. Can't hear stereo at highway speeds due to road noise. Seats uncomfortable after 30 minutes, no thigh support. Can't see out the rear window. Lower part of rear fenders loose and will move 1/4 inch. $30,000 piece of junk. Trade-in value of 7 month old car is only 60% of new car price.

'99 Camry was better!
Loved my '99 LE Camry, but the '03 XLE 4cyl is very stodgy at low speeds - like it's stuck in 2nd, or has 'turbo lag' - Great at high speeds on the interstate, but not fun to drive around town, as it drags and then surges at every stoplight. Driver's auto up-down window will NOT stop to open at increments! Interior right rear rattle, over rough pavement due to strut problem. After only 400 miles, I would trade it in, but can't cope with more car buying hassle. Paid too much for this car!

By sportsgy37 on April 1 @ 11:00 am

This is a tremendous riding, comfortable, quiet car, I have every option toyota has, vehicle stability control is a must, it has saved me twice, it could use more power, and the transmission takes a little getting used to.

Have had the Camry for 3 months. Everything Is of surperior Quality,Except, the paint. it seems to be a bit too fragil. I recieved a gouge on the left rear bumper cover at the dealers lot but I am not sure.My wife backed it up to a wooden curb and the paint cracked on the lower rear bumper.

Back for More
I am very pleased with my new Camry. I previously owned a '91 Camry with a V-6 engine and all the "bells and whistles". This car is every bit as enjoyable as the last. I really like the power of the 4 cyl. compared with my old 6 cyl. and think anyone except a race car driver would too. The higher placement of the controls for the sound system is a big improvement over the older Camrys. We test-drove the Accord, since this is a new model year for it. However, we were not as pleased with the brakes and the interior color selection as the Camry. We also test- drove the Infiniti G-35, but the brakes grabbed too much.

This is the fourth Toyota I have purchased, three Corrola's and a Toyota. I wanted more room and more power and had always dreamed of having a Camry. I have not been disappointed. It is so roomy and so comfortable. It has the pick-up I want and need since I have done a lot of distance driving. I know I am safe in a Toyota. The inner frame protected me from a front and rear end collision (at the same time) due to hydroplaining. I wanted a safe relaible, loe-maintence car, and I got it. Thanks Toyota.

What a car!
I just purchased a new 2003 camry for my wife yesterday. It has ABS (just $258!) and Goodyear tires. I did extensive research and test drove Accord, Altima and looked Passat. Camry has roomiest interior and best ride quality, and it's nice looking. This is a replacement for my long beloved 93' camry. It has 190000 miles on it and still runs and feels great. Unbelliveable! Camry gives me the most worry free and enjoyable ownership.

whine in 4 cyl engine
great car--beware of noticable engine whine around 1600-1650 rpm-dealer says I'm the third one this month to complain about it --says they don't know what to do about it-whine is quite noticable and very annoying in such a quiet car. I would probably have paid the extra money for the v6 (assuming that it wouldn't also have the whining noise) I intend to contact toyota and see what they have to say about it. very distressing in an otherwise great car.

By Zipit on December 8 @ 11:00 am
perfect blend
Accord is too conservative on the exterior design, but built solid; Altima is bit agressive on styling, but little thin on interior layout. The SE is just the right touch, Lexus styling, foglight, spoiler, quiet engine as what you expect from Toyota, what a blend! Manual 5sp would have been ultimate, because I have never driven any 5sp shifting so smoothly close to automatic as SE. Dashboard design is suprisingly more American, spacious cabin and trunk only sustain the point. SE just makes it stands out of Camry family with all the right touches. Proud to own

From Ford to Toyota
Recently switched from SUV to Camry. Was so happy when I test drove the Camry V6 that I traded my SUV within the same month. Am hoping Toyota's reputation proves to be good thing! Was disappointed when dealership had to get my Camry from another dealership and ASSURED me that it was the new 210 hp 03 SE V6 model and when I went to pick it up, it was the 192 hp V6. Was then told by dealer that 210 hp is not available in 03 SE models. Funny how other reviewers on here say they bought the 03 SE V6 model w/210 hp. Lesson here--don't ever trust car salesmen to know what they are selling!!

This vehicle replaced a 1992 Olds Cutlass, which was like going from a Volkswagen Beetle (older type) to a Porsche 928. The performance of this vehicle has been surprising considering it's size and weight. As for fun-to- drive, the car will get you into trouble with law enforcement very quickly, so pay attention to the speedometer, as 100+ mph is no strain at all for this car. The ride quality is as good as your living room couch...functional, but responsive when needed. Long trips are easily handled with little or no fatigue.

Never thought we will buy a Camry ever. HOwever, after considering Accord EX-Leather, Passat, Acura TSX picked Camry. Overall, Camry XLE with leather is a great value - tons of features that you find in high end cars are available at a competitive price. For e.g., for almost the same price as an Accord, you get side curtain air bags, rear cooling, anti- glare mirrow with compass.

This is my 2nd camry. I sold the first one with 150,000 miles (after 9 years) only because I wanted a more up to date version. Best Car I have ever driven!
I have driven BMW, Porsche, Cadillac and several other exotic cars, but none compare to the "feel" of the Toyota Camry. I know the 4 cylinder doesn't have the "pep" of a Porsche, but it still feels great to drive. The combination of comfort, ease of steering, fuel economy and fairly decent acceleration makes it great all- around.

Tall People Beware
The car runs great, but is not designed for everyone. Leg began cramping to the point of numbness days after I bought it, but the dealer and manufacturer were unsympathetic; politely listened but took no responsibility. Scouring the internet, I found similar cases for people 6' and over (I'm 6'). I'll have to sell the car at a loss after driving it for only a few weeks. Buyer beware: take a LONG test drive.

My First Toyota
Traded my 2000 Dodge Intrepid for 2003 Camry. Camry has a light touch, easy steering, parking and visibility. Nice ride, but not as much fun as the Intrepid, which was low slung and hugged the road like a sports car. Build quality is good, and car has an airconditioner that could chill meat! Great for those hot July days.

What a great buy!
I brought my Camry with a little less than 15K miles. All the previous cars I had owned had been domestic and there is a big difference in the handling. My Camry came with ABS brakes and I decided to get the car certified before I purchased it and the dealership threw in a cargo net for the truck as well. Not a bad purchased for $17,450. I am having a ball with this car. It is worth every penny. I finally found a car that a 5'10 female can enjoy riding in the back seat. This was my biggest concern of mine. I knew I could drive just about any car, but I wanted one I could be confortable in the back in as well. Great job guys.

Very quiet & powerful, but, some lag upon acceleration. Yet no problem in quickly reaching high speed. Ride is cushy, comfortable & quiet. You will feel some sway if you hit a bump turning. Overall design is very smart. Big controls for the sound system and A/C make them easy to operate. The JBL system (6 CD in dash + Cassette)sounds awesome! Ample leg and headroom in front and the back. The trunk is very spacious and has a storage net. Leather interior and the Faux Maple dash rival higher priced luxury cars. One-touch power windows and moon roof. It is a solid car with a very luxurious presence.

Absolute Bargin/Brand/Capable Performer
No regrets on this Camry. Build quality is excellent; driver is isolated from everything the City throws at you (esp. the NYC/Metro area). It performs competently when push to the limit, even in heavy rain. I am a 29 year old who pushes every car to the limit; last car owned was a Subaru WRX. In summary, this car performs perfectly for those who drive conservatively or aggressively. Lots of noise with this new car. 1st the windows. Dealer replaced window regulator & slider but only help a little. Still got window rattle noise. 2nd noise is an odd ticking or snapping noise coming from the rear center dash area. It sounds as if there something like plastic that is rubbing against each other. It happens sporadically, but is really annoying. The dealer can't fix it and the dealer called Toyota for a fix, but Toyota says no fix. I did not want a toyota camry, but i would check it out anyway. I did'nt find anything special about the car except that the price was lower (no big deal to me) and it came with more standard equipment...i'm starting to be swayed at this point. Best choice no doubt
When I decided to buy a new car I enlisted the help of a family member who is a car salesperson. I was given a Toyota Camry to drive for a day and the next day I was given another new car, different make. The other car was considerably less money since they had a great promotion going on. We are talking around three thousand less. The two days I drove these cars I asked ten different people their opinions and explained the deal I could get on each model. There was not one person that recommended the other vehicle. They all said"BUY THE TOYOTA"!!! I took their advise and have been nothing short of thrilled with my choice.

My Camry Experience
Actually the Camry sold me the first time. I was a hard core American Car only person.I drove a Camry just to see if what I heard was true. I couldn't believe how smooth, how quiet, how much fun to drive this car was. I went back to the dealer from the test drive, and bought it on the spot. I have purchased two more Camrys since that time. Ill be buying the Highlander before Christmas. Thanks Toyota.

Car of my dreams
After being a driver for more than 40 years, this is one vehicle that just plain outshines anything I have driven. The comfort is outstanding to say the least! Reliability is flawless! I owned a Toyota in the early 70s that I thought was great, but this is a world class comfort car. Lots of great amenaties as well! Makes one feel that you are in a luxury car. So smooth and quiet.

Everything you could want in a car
This car has everything you could want in a car and more. We particularly like the navigational system. Unbelievable. We continually find new aspects of the car that we are completely sold on the Toyota and cannot imagine ever purchasing another make. It even has seat warmers.

THE TOYOTA CAMRY IS VERY SPACIOUS. IM A 6 FOOT TALL PERSON AND THE PERSON THAT WOULD SIT BEHIND ME IS STILL COMFORTABLE!! I TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT

Awesome car!
I've had a lot of great luck with this car and plan on driving it until it stops running.

I love my Camry
We had a Honda for 12 years -- I never thought we'd get another car that was such value for the money. The Camry is roomy, easy to drive, and all the controls are within easy reach and clearly labelled. The car is very large inside and comfortable, without having to get a large car for roominess. The styling is good, without being extreme.

The Bes Quality For The Money
I've always had good performance from the Toyota Camry, and my 2003 is no exception. I've driven it almost 7,000 miles and do not have any complaints although I can be quite picky about cars.

I love my Camry
This is my second Camry. The first one I had for nine years and 150000 miles. The '03 ride is so much improved than the last car. The cabin is so quiet.

Transmission problems
I purchased my V6 XLE in June. After reading a couple other posts and talking to a few friends, I believe this car has serious transmission problems. The car shifts roughs and hesitates all the time. It bumps into gear at times, especially when slowing not quite to a stop, and then accelerating. Keyes Toyota in Van Nuys assures me that this is a normal function of the transmission. If it is a normal function of the transmission, it makes it very uncomfortable to drive.

Gracie - my Camry
Two weeks after purchasing my car, it was back at the dealership for a tranmission problem. The transmission was defective, and since my car was manufactured in Japan, they had to order a transmission from Japan - took 3 weeks. After I got my car back, the transmission was better, but I still have some questions about the slight hestitation between 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. Also, there is a minor problem with the turn signal lever - it works fine when signalling for a left turn, but when pushing it up for a right turn, it does not hold in that position, I have to "wiggle" it slightly to make it stay up.
